Responsibilities

The Admissions Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing all admissions for the agency. This position
plans, organizes and directs initial assessments and admissions tasks to meet the needs of eligible patients.

  • Responsible for compliance with all hospice regulations, laws, policies and procedures, including regulations related to the Medicare and Medicaid hospice benefit, as well as any requirements related to private or managed care insurance.
  • Coordinates with staff to ensure a timely initial assessment and admission process.
  • Assists with the ordering and procurement process for appropriate medications, medical supplies, and durable medical equipment for new admissions as ordered by a physician.
  • Understanding of eligibility requirements for hospice eligible patients and ensures compliance through regular audit of medical records.
  • Provides oversight of the non-admit process.
  • Coordinates required face-to-face visits prior to admission, when applicable.


Education and Experience

License Requirements

  • Must be a licensed registered nurse in the state(s) of operation.
  • At least two years of experience in a hospice, home health, or other health care service delivery system
    setting.
  • Healthcare leadership experience preferred.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Current Driver's License and vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
