ABOUT THE JOB (JOB BRIEF)

The Model Risk Governance Senior Business Analytics Manager reports directly into the Senior Director of Model Risk Governance and is responsible for the sound execution and oversight of line of business priorities and objectives within the Model Risk Governance Team. Primary areas of focus for this role are related to Model risk's procedures and protocols within the enterprise's Third Party Management/Procurement, and Business Initiatives Decisioning processes. This role includes providing leadership and oversight of a team of Model Risk Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). The role requires the ability to engage and establish strong working relationships with lines of business and risk partners throughout the enterprise. The Senior Business Analytics Manager acts as a leader, strategic advisor and credible thought partner to senior / executive level business partners. The Model Risk Senior Business Analytics Manager is required to stay abreast of industry and best practices and foster an environment of continuous learning for the junior team. As such, the Senior Business Analytics Manager uses industry trends to identify new capabilities and opportunities and must be able to translate and connect strategy to the team's day-to-day work through superior communication, coaching, and proactive management of workloads and assignments.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for the sound execution of Model Risk's procedures and protocols within the enterprise Third Party Management and Procurement processes, which includes model identification, risk assessment, contract negotiation, monitoring, etc. Provides oversight and leadership to junior Model Risk Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
  • Carries out responsibilities within Key's Business Initiative Decisioning process for the review and risk assessment of new business initiatives for the enterprise. Ensure model related risks are appropriately identified and mitigated with appropriate escalation to Senior/Executive management.
  • Lead a team of Model Risk SME professionals in core business processes
  • Drive cross-functional and enterprise-wide solutions
  • Provide strategic consultation to senior / executive level business and risk partners
  • Anticipate business partner needs
  • Drive the output of the team - ensure "client ready" work product in alignment with business priorities
  • Provide thought leadership within and beyond the working group
  • Actively listens and knows when to probe for further information
  • Promote the group and their capabilities to stakeholders
  • Able to effectively collaborate and partner at all levels of the organization; guides, advises, challenges, and influences to drive organizational impact
  • Provide solutions based on "connecting the dots"; leverage business insights to align, develop, and build holistic strategies and solutions that align with LOB priorities and consider knowledge of cross-LOB interdependencies; develop this skill in others
  • Other projects/tasks as assigned by the Sr. Director of Model Risk Governance

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field (equivalent experience may be considered)
  • 7years of experience in model or related risk management/governance, internal or external audit, project management or equivalent experience, strongly focused on process design, development, risks and controls
  • Working knowledge of GRC and Tableau
  • Good interpersonal skill/ knows how to work across silos
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office with advanced experience in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of open sources (e.g. Python) preferred but not mandatory
  • Strong organizational skills are required to perform multiple tasks simultaneously to meet strict deadlines
  • Able to work in a high volume and fast paced environment
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Business Acumen: Possesses an integrated, cross-functional perspective based on understanding of the business; Aware of and leverages industry best practices; Has the ability to teach or coach where there are gaps in business acumen; Provides solutions based on knowledge of cross-LOB interdependencies
  • Critical Thinking / Problem Solving: Drives cross-functional and enterprise wide solutions; Takes a systematic approach to "connecting the dots"; Proactively solicits others to gain an understanding of impacts and intersections; Considers longer term KeyCorp strategy and priorities in recommending solutions

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $110,000 to $130,000 annually depending on job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
