JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Lamination Steel Cutter to join our Production team. This position works in our Transformer Fabrication Department. They will set up, operate, and tend to machines that cut, shear and punch lamination steel as well as other materials used in the assembly of transformers. This position requires the ability to read and follow assembly prints and drawings to cut the lamination steel to the correct length and punch mounting holes in the correct location. They will then combine coils, lamination steel, transformer frames, and hardware to assemble these components into transformers. This role will be based in our Accident, MD office reporting to the Project Estimation Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Cuts lamination steel to required length

* Punches holes to specified dimensions

* Stacks transformer steel following the engineering design

* Assembles transformer steel according to design

* Applies epoxy or fiberglass resin to transformer core steel

* Overtime may be required depending on the workload.

* Ability to make machine adjustments based on requirements of the role.

* Ability to read mechanical drawings.

* Preps coils for assembly.

* Cleans tap bars in preparation for assembling transformer.

* Maintains an inventory of blades and punches to ensure workflow and efficiency.

* Maintains a clean, safe and functional work environment.

* Completes paperwork to track material usage.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

* 1 year of experience working in an Industrial type of environment or equivalent work experience that requires attention to detail.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

* Ability to read and understand transformer lamination steel cut sheets

* Ability to reading a square down to 1/64 inch

* Ability to operate the following equipment:

o Transformer steel punch

o Lamination steel cutter and dereeler

o Forklift

o Crane

o Band saw

o Lift table

o Banding tool

o Drill

o Pallet truck

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, read, write, type, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with co-workers. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job. Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds.

Hourly Pay Range Minimum $16.64 - Midpoint $20.80
