JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Senior Hardware Test Engineer who will be responsible for the design, construction, integration, and support of safe automated, semi-automated and manual production electrical test fixtures, procedures, and documentation and support of existing test solutions. This is a leadership position, and this person will be responsible for planning, managing, and participating in all aspects of Test Engineering projects. This role will be based in our Marlborough, MA office reporting to the Senior Manager, Test Engineering.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

These include the creation of test specifications and methods as well as Test Engineering project plans. This position will be responsible for conducting design reviews for test fixture design and assuring that all aspects of assigned projects are properly documented. This position will also be responsible for selecting hardware and software test tools. Scheduling and managing activities with test technicians and contractors may also be required.

* This candidate will interact with Design and Software Engineers, Manufacturing, Materials, fixture vendors and contract manufacturers.

* The candidate will meet aggressive development schedules targeting decreased time-to-market and reduced manufacturing test costs.

* The candidate may be responsible for the reduction of board level and system test failures through data collection, failure analysis and corrective actions for test and design issues.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

* Minimum of 10 years of experience working as a Test Engineer or in the electronics industry in a medium volume manufacturing environment.

* Extensive experience developing under NI LabView and Test Stand

* Very strong analog and digital circuit skills including circuit design and prototyping experience.

* Possess good software and electrical assembly skills.

* Leadership and documentation skills and very good diagnostic and analytical skills.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE (Not Required):

* Experience developing automation programs in Visual Basic.

* Experience with high voltage switching power supplies.

* Experience working in an ISO environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Knowledge of the laws and fundamentals governing electronic and electrical signal behavior is required along with a strong mathematical background specifically those formulae involving electrical signals (Ohms, Watts, and Kirkoff's laws, trigonometry, polar mathematics, and statistics). Candidates may be subject to written knowledge testing during the interview process. This role will be able to assemble/construct custom test apparatus such as housed electronic circuitry including point to point wiring, circuit boards including breadboards. They will have excellent soldering skills and be very familiar and comfortable with basic hand and power tools and mechanical hardware

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers, and customers. Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job related skills, as well as relevant education or training experience.

Salary Pay Range Minimum $113,035.84 - Midpoint $141,294.80
