The Opportunity:
The Director, Enablement & Technology is responsible for all functions/teams reporting into Enablement & Technology. The goal of the Enablement & Technology team is to reduce or eliminate burdens for those directly responsible for training and developing learners in the organization. This position is responsible for standardizing, consolidating and building solutions and processes. This is achieved through the utilization of the learning development process (ADDIE), existing and new technologies and tools, measuring program impact, and ensuring streamlined learning operations that meet business needs and are cost-optimized and sustainable. Provides expertise in the implementation of learning technologies and leads governance around standardization and oversight to serve Roche Diagnostics Corporation's learning needs. Works collaboratively with Training & Development leaders, key stakeholders and global colleagues to ensure alignment and leverage resources as appropriate. Serves as a member of the Training & Development Leadership Team charged with setting vision and strategy for Training & Development. Responsible for quality of delivery through metrics and KPI's.

Provides thought leadership and vision in collaboration with:

  • Executive leadership and cross-functional teams to decide on innovations and improvements to the existing learner experience and processes, based on analyzed data, current practice and emerging trends
  • Other internal teams to understand individual and overall project needs, creating a unified, seamless and engaging learner experience
  • Cross-functional design and development teams to drive the continuous improvement of learner outcomes and satisfaction

The areas of focus will be to:

  • Identify areas to automate and standardize operational functions within Training & Development including registrations, communications, materials, access, assessments, matriculation, vendors, budgets, etc.
  • Partner with internal IT, Commercial Enablement & Strategy functions, global teams and external vendors to identify and implement tools, technologies and process enhancements that improve the engagement, efficiency and productivity of the learning team and the experience for our learners
  • Oversee management of all learning technology platforms. Includes managing the vendor, platform upgrades and being the liaison between the end user and IT
  • Align learning technology solutions to commercial curriculum needs and learner-driven access based on foundational principles of quick, easy and timely access to data that supports building commercial capabilities
  • Ensures all learning solutions use a documented learning development process (ADDIE), including adult learning theory, interactive activities, technology to ensure learning solutions are effective and aligned with quality and regulatory requirements
  • Lead the standardization and centralization of best-practice principles of curriculum design, delivery and evaluation for the larger team of Trainers

Who You Are:

  • BS/BA in business, organizational development, related technical, scientific, marketing, sales or related fields
  • 10 years of professional experience in related technical, training, sales or marketing
  • 5 years of leadership experience or equivalent
  • 5 years of previous training experience
  • Ability to travel for business 10% of the time


Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or other related graduate-level degree preferred
  • Experience with digital learning and social learning platforms to drive engagement and scale
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement initiatives
  • Experience in Adult Learning
  • Knowledge of, and/or training in, regulatory and system compliance
  • Previous experience leading large-scale business planning processes, including development and implementation of strategies, plans, goals and metrics
  • Experience collaborating with Global teams
