Overview:

Loureiro Engineering Associates, Inc. is currently seeking a qualified Licensed Professional Land Surveyor in our Land Survey Division. This unique career opportunity can be in our Plainville or Groton, CT office. LEA’s Land Survey Division provides a full range of land surveying services.

The Professional Land Surveyor plans and conducts work requiring judgement in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Embraces new approaches to problems encountered, and is required to perform projects to acceptable quality standards on time and within budget. Accountable for demonstrating and overseeing standard procedures to assure the production of high-quality deliverables and that work is consistent with the client’s expectations.

The Professional Land Surveyor will provide experience in all areas of land surveying. Work includes participation in the project scoping process, land records research and interpretation, and occasional field work. Proven ability to think critically and provide technical support to multiple survey teams is required.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical oversight for all land surveying services including boundary surveys, utility surveys, construction layout, topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, and subdivisions.
  • Project scoping for preparation of proposals.
  • Conducting research of public and private land records.
  • Preparing and maintaining sketches, maps, and reports of legal descriptions of surveys.
  • Verification of data, calculations, and CAD drafting.
  • Writing property boundary descriptions.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of construction Surveying.
  • Professional Land Surveying license (Connecticut with the ability to obtain licensure in other states).
  • Expertise in all aspects of land survey standards and boundary law.
  • Self-motivated with good time management and the ability to occasionally work outdoors as needed.
  • Excellent communication skills enabling effective cooperation with cross-functional teams and clients.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring precision and accuracy in surveying results.
  • Understanding of the Field to Finish process.
  • Proficient with surveying software including AutoCAD Civil 3D and Carlson Survey.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting, walking, hiking, and standing.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time.
  • Mobility control of hands to set up equipment, handle samples, and operate tools.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment.
