The SCC Machine Analystsupports the TRUMPF service organization by embedding deep analytical insights into machine operation processes. He/She uses analytics and machine learning tools to generate actionable insights by leveraging big data within a cutting-edge environment. She/He will lead and participate in the development, validation and delivery of algorithms, statistical models and reporting tools to support our machine monitoring service business. This requires close cooperation with machine R&D and testing to build and steadily grow profound knowledge in all areas from existing to newly released products.

This opportunity reports into our Farmington, CT office and is offered as 100% remote.

Your tasks:

  • Embed deep analytical insights into machine operation processes and machine failure mechanisms.
  • Use analytics and machine learning tools to generate actionable insights by leveraging big data within a cutting-edge Microsoft Databricks environment and participate in the development, validation and delivery of algorithms, statistical models and reporting tools to support Engineering Department, Second Level Support, Technical Support, machine monitoring service business.
  • Closely cooperate with machine R&D, Second Level Support and testing to build and steadily contribute to in-house knowledge in all areas from existing to newly released products.
  • Perform analyses of structured and unstructured data to solve multiple and/or complex machine problems. Utilize advanced statistical techniques and mathematical analyses with broad knowledge of TRUMPF and the industry.
  • Use strong knowledge in algorithms and predictive models to investigate problems, detect patterns and recommend solutions.
  • Use strong programming skills (Python, R Studio/Posit) to explore, examine and interpret large volumes of data in various forms concerning TRUMPF machine operation and failure mechanisms.
  • Applying version control tools like GIT to maintain and share code within TRUMPF.
  • Collaborate with business partners to understand their problems and goals, develop predictive modeling, statistical analysis, data reports and performance metrics.
  • Develop and participate in presentations and consultations to other TRUMPF business units on machine analytics results and solutions.
  • Interact with internal and external peers and manager to exchange complex information concerning TRUMPF machine operational data.

Your qualification:

  • Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or Statistics.

  • Strong knowledge of advanced analytics tools and languages (preferably Python) to analyze large data sets from multiple data sources.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in most areas of mathematical analysis methods, machine learning, statistical analyses, and predictive modeling and in-depth specialization in some areas.
  • Knowledge of machine tool products is a plus.
  • Knowledge of German language is plus.
  • Knowledge of web development is a plus
