About the Role

Under minimal supervision, the Director, Music Software Products (SaaS Business) leads all aspects of the strategy and operations of the Roon SaaS business. In charge of defining targets, developing strategies, and executing plans for the growth of a mature B2C music software business. Provides leadership for the product development, business development, customer lifecycle, and operations teams. Assumes end-to-end ownership of the Roon business, including financial oversight.

About Your Team

This position will lead and develop a SaaS team of 30-40 people across the globe (US, UK, France, Germany, Ukraine) for Software products. The position's four direct reports manage the product development, business development, customer lifecycle, and operations teams.


What You Will Do

  • Business management owner for the Roon product and the SaaS revenue stream.
  • Strategic and tactical role: Reports to VP & GM, Software Experiences business unit.
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy that encompasses product development, market expansion, customer lifecycle management, and financial performance.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 30-40 employees across the US and Europe, including four direct reports responsible for Product Development, Business Development, Customer Lifecycle, and Operations/Finance.
  • Product Development: Oversee the product development process, ensuring the delivery of innovative and competitive music and audio solutions that meet market demands and customer needs.
  • Business Development: Drive business growth through strategic partnerships, market expansion initiatives, and the identification of new business opportunities.
  • Customer Lifecycle Management: Ensure a seamless customer journey from acquisition through retention, maximizing customer satisfaction, loyalty, and lifetime value.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage the business unit's financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management, to ensure profitability and financial health.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges, adapting strategies to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with other departments and senior management to align business strategies with overall company objectives.

What You Need

  • 12+ years of relevant experience in business management, with a proven track record of producing significant revenue growth.
  • Proven expertise in managing a P&L.
  • Demonstrated success in team development.
  • Deep understanding of business models, industry practices, and market dynamics.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams across different geographical locations.
  • Demonstrated success in product development, user growth, and business expansion.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a hands-on approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Team player - having respect for colleagues; leading teams with clarity and accountability.

What is Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience in media, entertainment, or related field.

  • At Harman, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is $180,000 - $220,000 + applicable bonus and long-term compensation. Pay is based on a wide range of factors, including, without limitation, skill set, experience, training, location, and business need. While the above range is a reasonable estimate of the wage range for this position, please note the disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographical differential associated with the location where the position may be filled.
