SUMMARY

This position works in our Academy for Human Services Training (AHST) to lead statewide job development activities for AHST students and maintain systems for internship placement and monitoring, job development, job placement and retention services to students and graduates of the Academy for Human Service Training.

DUTIES

• Works a flexible schedule that will include working both day and some evening hours at the AHST program sites.
• Assists students in determining their vocational and employment plans through individual counseling and guidance.
• Oversees the composition/revision of AHST student resumes & cover letters in order to ensure professional language and appearance.
• Conducts ongoing job development activities with employers across the state.
• Assists other AHST Job Developers with internship site & job development activities

REQUIREMENTS

• Valid Connecticut Driver's License
• Access to a reliable, registered and insured vehicle
• Adult CPR and Basic First Aid

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Associate's Degree in Human Services, Special Education, or related field plus one year experience with job development OR five years of experience in the human services or related field with at least one year of relevant experience

SCHEDULE

• Must be available 40 hrs per week with flexibility to meet program needs.
