Role and Responsibilities:

As the Cashier, you will be responsible for efficiently processing financial transactions while providing exceptional customer service. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth and accurate transactions, contributing to a positive customer experience.

  • Accurately handle various payment types, including cash, credit cards, debit cards, and checks. Calculate totals, receive payments, and provide change when necessary.
  • Utilize electronic cash registers and point-of-sale systems to ring up sales, scan items, and generate receipts.
  • Greet customers warmly, address inquiries about products or services, and help throughout their shopping experience.
  • Efficiently manage returns and exchanges, processing refunds and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in packaging items, ensuring secure and proper wrapping of purchases.
  • Maintain accurate transaction records, including sales, inventory, and discounts applied.
  • Reconcile cash drawers at the end of shifts to ensure accuracy, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Provide customers with detailed receipts containing purchase information.
  • Handle gift cards, coupons, and discounts, applying them correctly to transactions.
  • Address customer inquiries about store policies, product availability, and pricing.
  • Keep the checkout area clean and organized to provide an inviting shopping environment.
  • Follow security protocols to prevent theft or fraud, including verifying identification for credit card transactions.
  • Promote related products and special offers to enhance sales when appropriate.
  • Floating between any current needs in the operations.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of cashier experience.
  • Open Availability. (We are looking for Thursday-Sunday shifts to be filled)

The Cashier role involves various physical and environmental demands essential for the successful execution of responsibilities and fostering a safe and efficient work environment. Candidates should be aware of and prepared for the following requirements:

  • Physical Stamina:The role requires physical stamina for standing, walking, lifting objects, and tasks involving movement throughout the workday.
  • Lifting:Regularly lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionally handle items exceeding 75 pounds.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability:Ability to remain flexible and adaptable in response to changing responsibilities and tasks.
  • Professional Ethics:Uphold a high standard of professional ethics, exhibiting respect, honesty, and integrity in all interactions and tasks.
