What's the job?
The incumbent will be responsible for the development, implementation and management of the CertainTeed Roofing Automation and Industry 4.0 strategy. This new department will develop standards for automation, infrastructure, Information systems and architecture of network to be implemented in CertainTeed Roofing, to leverage technology use to improve, streamline and automate the manufacturing process.
The Automation and Industry 4.0 Manager provides dedicated support to sites within the Roofing Products Group during and after implementation of Industry 4.0 initiatives with the purpose to accelerate integration and future advancement improvements to support business results.
The candidate will Manage, mentor, lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of engineers, in the Automation & Industry 4.0 department to build knowledge and expertise on PLC's, motion control, motor drives, communication protocols, industrial network, and digital tools, to support the existing and future CertainTeed Roofing plants (Roofing, Granules and Glass Mat).
Has a strong knowledge of Manufacturing processes along with knowledge of MES, Scada, PLC, Sensors, Mobile Devices and RF technologies.
The Automation and Industry 4.0 department is responsible for planning, implementation, and monitoring of new technology with the CertainTeed Roofing plants. The department works closely with the CertainTeed Digital Manufacturing team and continuously seeks and utilizes feedback from the Operations team and the Operational Excellence team to create best in class systems for CertainTeed Roofing.
