Overview

Performs a variety of cleaning duties using various equipment and supplies to maintain cleanliness and meet acceptable department standards of environmental areas. Lead and directs the work activities of employees working on special projects, assigns work, explains tasks and handles unusual problems as well as inspecting and following up on employees and issues. Conducts rounds required rounds and fills in for supervisor during absences.

Responsibilities

  • 1. Performs specific work direction activities with individual employees or small employee groups.
    • 1.1 Directs the work activities of employees assigned to an area under the direction of a supervisor so that the work load is properly completed with no more than three (3) discrepancies per month as observed by supervisor.
  • 2. Follows cleaning procedures in proper sequence to ensure sanitary conditions of all areas.
  • 3. Performs cleaning or trash procedures to ensure the sanitary condition of assigned areas.
  • 4. Attend and assist in conducting all huddles and lead meetings.Attend and assist at the start/end of every shift
  • 5. On a daily basis, the following must be completed: 5.1 Employee/Unit Rounds 5.2 Shift Reports: in supervisors absence. 5.3 Check and respond to email correspondence within 12 hrs. 5.4 Assist in the distribution and assigning of equipment, keys, pagers, and supplies at the beginning of shift and collection of those same items at the end of the shift. 5.5 Direct the work activities of employees assigned to your unit/area, under the direction of the operations manager. 5.6 Assist in teaching, instructing, and demonstrating proper cleaning methods, use of tools, cleaning aids, and correct safety procedures to staff members. Inspect task list during rounds to ensure assigned duties are completed. Recognize open schedules, and help support/complete schedule. Carry the Unit phone at all times and respond to phone calls with urgency and in a professional manager.
  • 6. During rounds you may also be expected to complete : 6.1 Quality Inspections (via E-Suites) 6.2 Black light Testing?s (Discharge) 6.3 Patient interviews 6.4 Assist with documentation of training records of assigned staff under the direction of operations manager
  • 7. Before completing your shift, there should be an exchange with the next shift supervisor or Lead to review tasks that need to be completed, areas that need special attention, and shift issues. 7.1 Complete Handoff Rounding
  • 8. You must follow the hand hygiene policy (wash in and wash out)
  • 9. If you need to leave the account for any reason for a prolonged period during the work day, please notify your Operations Manager, Assistant Director, or me. This is critical for daily operations, in the event of an emergency, and for proper supervision purposes.
  • 10. You must ensure that you are trained in DOT, HRO, and Hazardous Waste and all other hospital required trainings
  • 11. The actual work duties outside of the lead responsibilities can be found in the five (5) different job descriptions. Depending on the job duties the lead person performs will determine which job description is used. Because the lead responsibilities has a weight of 30, the weights in the other five job descriptions will need to be adjusted

Qualifications

EDUCATION


High School Diploma or GED preferred or equivalent relevant experience in lieu of educational requirements.


EXPERIENCE


Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of related experience.


SPECIAL SKILLS


Must be able to operate cleaning equipment and lift up to 40 pounds as required for the specific task available. All duties require some pushing, pulling, bending and standing. Must be able to read instructional materials and labels.
