Essential Duties:

* Perform general custodial duties, to include dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking
paper and soap supplies
* Perform routine maintenance to custodial equipment and supplies
* Cleans offices, meeting chambers and recreational facilities
* Mop tile, concrete floor areas, and vacuum all carpeted areas
* Use manual/hand tools to wash and buff floors with floor polisher
* Wash entrance and exit floors
* Dust all furniture and fixtures as required
* Clean, wash and disinfect drinking fountains
* Wash all finger marks from walls, doors, hardware and glass
* Clean break room sinks and counters
* Wash and disinfect all washroom floors, toilets, toilet seats, hand dryers and fixtures
* Clean walls and toilet partitions
* Clean all mirrors
* Replenish toilet tissue and soap as needed
* Empties trash receptacles, disposes trash into compactors and/or dumpsters, and bags trash for proper disposal
* Place garbage in outside storage bin
* Clean entrance and exit including glass, doors and hardware
* Keep outside area near exit and entrance clear of snow, cans, paper and etc.
* Report damages and acts of vandalism
* Reports needs and concerns to appropriate staff, which may include submitting or recommending work orders
and checking supply levels
* Perform cleaning functions specific to the assigned facilities and/or based on season/project requirements
* Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement
of workplace safety and environmental practices
* Perform any other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

* High School Degree or equivalent experience
* Minimum two (2) years of custodial experience

Preferred Knowledge:

* Ability to understand verbal instructions
* Ability to understand and follow safety procedures
* Ability to operate vacuums and other related equipment
* Ability to safely use cleaning equipment, supplies, and agents
* Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade

Physical Demands:

The custodian is a physically demanding position, requires heavy physical work, and repetitive motion. Requires manual
dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment. While preforming the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly
required to reach with hands and arms. The incumbent is frequently required to use to finger, handle, feel or operate
objects, tools or controls. The incumbent must spend the entire time at work standing, walking, lifting heavy objects,
operating medium- weight cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, sweeping and mopping floors and moving desks and
furniture. The incumbent is required to do a great deal of stretching and bending, often in awkward positions. The
incumbent must also use back-pack vacuums when assigned. The incumbent must frequently lift and/or move up to 25
pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close
vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Environmental Demands:

The incumbent works on a daily basis with dangerous and toxic cleaning products that can be very harmful to one's health
if not properly utilized and require following basic safety precautions. May involve moderate exposure to unusual
elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. The incumbent
also regularly cleans up blood, saliva and other bodily fluids that are unpleasant to deal with. The condition of washrooms
is often unpleasant.

Background Screening:
Must submit to background check during length of employment as dictated by contract. Must be able to pass criminal and
drug screening processes to meet current contract eligibility requirements that apply.
