Job Description

About the role:

Analysts create must-have insights for our clients through published research and client interaction helping solve organizational challenges that lead to better performance.

As part of Gartner's Corporate Assurance Practice, you will join a dynamic team focused on advising Corporate Compliance and Ethics, Enterprise Risk Management, and other assurance leaders on emerging technologies, vendors, market trends, and best practices related to the governance and management of third-party risk.

This role will meaningfully expand coverage for the practice, and we are looking for an entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and ideas-driven individual to help serve clients related to the topics below.

What you will do:
As a Gartner analyst, you will engage with clients every day: on the phone, in videoconferences, and in virtual events. To support these conversations you will research technology, management practices, trends and produce research for Gartner clients to view online or download and apply. You will primarily work with CCOs and ERM leaders, as well as provide additional support to legal, audit, supply chain, and IT/IS leaders. You will:

  • Create insightful and actionable research for Heads of Compliance & Ethics, ERM, and others and provide best practices and advice on third party risk management (TPRM) governance, how to assess and select TPRM technology, how to use analytics to support business partners across the first line (procurement, supply chain, IT, cyber and other functions).

  • Remain ahead of the curve on developments and issues by understanding the broader technology and services market and ecosystem related to third party risk assessment, management, monitoring, reporting, and analytics, partnering with experts internally, and learning from our clients' best practices.

  • Deliver high quality actionable advice through face-to-face and video-based presentations and discussions with clients and prospects.

What you will need:

  • 10+ years of experience within third party risk, legal, compliance or related fields (in a corporate, consulting, research, or other setting).

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Knowledge of and experience with the third-party risk management governance, policies, and organizational structures.

  • In-depth knowledge of and experience with the vendor market, functionalities, and capabilities related to TPRM and related tools and service providers particularly supporting heads of corporate compliance and ERM (although an understanding of TPRM systems across the enterprise will be beneficial).

  • Familiarity and experience with primary vendors in this space (e.g., Archer, OneTrust), as well as near-neighbor and emerging vendors.

  • Working knowledge of how TPRM capabilities may be supported by GRC and/or other assurance tools.

  • Experience and interest in advising, presenting to, and writing for the most senior levels of an organization (e.g., Chief Compliance & Ethics Officer, Head of Risk/ERM, General Counsel, Chief Audit Executives).

  • Demonstrable executive presence; can immediately establish credibility with executives and additional stakeholders.

  • Learning agility and high comfort with ambiguity, with an ability to navigate highly matrixed environments and adjust communication style to different audiences.

  • Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to quickly build rapport and gain trust both internally with peers and externally with clients.
