Job Summary:

The Director, Global Compensation reporting to the Vice President, Global Total Rewards will lead a seasoned global team of compensation professionals, and orchestrate the design, program management and implementation of all areas of compensation across the company. This includes, broad-based compensation strategy and international compensation. The position will partner closely with business leadership to develop compensation programs aimed at attracting and retaining the company's global workforce of 15,000+ employees in more than 40 countries around the world.


Principal Responsibilities:

  • Designs and develops compensation plans and policies by evaluating cost competitiveness and program effectiveness and alignment with the total rewards philosophy
  • Designs and administers compensation programs that include broad-based compensation and incentive compensation
  • Administers and maintains the company's global job architecture and conducts job evaluations and market analysis to determine appropriate salary ranges globally
  • Monitors and benchmarks the marketplace to determine organization's competitive position
  • Manages and administers the company's global annual processes with regards to Annual Pay Review and Long Term Incentive Program.
  • Researches and shares emerging trends in compensation methodology and philosophy
  • Manages the relationship with external vendors, monitoring service level metrics and enforcing contractual obligations
  • Responsible for budget forecasting and trend analysis
  • Supports M & A activity by assessing and managing compensation integration Provides HR and management with ongoing consultation, and develops and designs plans, programs, processes and tools which effectively manage competitive and compliant programs
  • Works closely with senior leadership to oversee the implementation and communication of compensation policies and programs
  • Leverages global scale for technology, contracts and application of best practices
  • Provides guidance, advice and training to HR, leaders and team members on compensation plan design, administration and operations
  • Monitors and benchmarks the marketplace to determine organization's competitive position
  • Ensures organization compliance with applicable laws and government regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Level Specifications:

  • Provides leadership and direction through managers and senior managers. Accountable for the performance and results of a major function that has cross-organizational impact and is comprised of multiple departments and/or teams.
  • Establishes policies appropriate for the function. Interprets and recommends modifications to enterprise-wide policies and practices. Adapts and executes functional business plans and contributes to the development of functional strategies. Responsible for efficient utilization of significant resources within the function.
  • Objectives are defined in collaboration with senior management and results assessed with a long-term perspective. Decisions are guided by functional strategy and priorities.
  • Collaborates with senior management and others concerning matters of significance to the company. Routinely conducts briefings for senior management and/or key external contacts. Influences senior management or customers/clients.
  • Decisions likely have serious impact on the overall success or failure of a function. Erroneous decisions or recommendations result in critical delays or modifications to company objectives and cause long-term harm to business operation


Work Experience:

  • Typically 10+ years including 5+ years of management experience


Education and Certification(s):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.


Distinguishing Characteristics:

  • CCP preferred
