Packaging Operator/Mechanic

Bracket IAA

The following qualifications are required for a Packaging Operator/Mechanic, Bracket IAA:

Must be a Mechanic or Electrician-Class A, and be qualified to troubleshoot, set up, adjust, repair, changeover, & overhaul high speed semi-automatic & automatic packaging including, but not limited to:

  • Hot melt glue systems
  • Full can conveyor systems
  • Full case conveyor systems
  • Automatic palletizing equipment
  • Stretch wrappers
  • Shrink wrap systems
  • Barcode printers and label equipment
  • Ink jet case coder systems
  • Automatic casers and tray loaders
  • Automatic labelers
  • Full can palletizers/depalletizers (brite stackers)
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic electrical systems
  • Other misc. packaging equipment

Must be qualified to operate all the above equipment and:

  • Check labels, stock, size, grade, etc. against labeling orders
  • Make running adjustment, running repairs, and keep constant check on equipment
  • Keep machine supplied with proper labels, cases, and adhesives
  • Must know can codes
  • Keep records as required
  • Avoid jams due to dented cand, downed cans, loose labels, and misfeeds
  • Set aside cases containing unlabeled cans
  • Lubricate machinery as required
  • Perform quality checks

Must be able to operate multiple in packaging department

Must be able to understand & use the Computer Graphic Interface (HMI)

Must be qualified to operate a forklift

Must be able to communicate in English

Will report to Shift Leader or Department Supervisor or his/her designee
