Job Summary

*Assist with the overall game day operation of the following varsity sports; volleyball, basketball, baseball, track and field, golf, and tennis.
*Event staff employees are responsible for all other duties assigned in addition to their specific job description.
*Event staff employees are required to properly setup and breakdown for an athletic event.
*Event staff employees are required to attend brief and debrief meetings before and following the event to obtain more information necessary to job performance.
*Event staff employees are required to be knowledgeable of conference and NCAA rules and regulations for the respective sport event.
*Must have the ability to perform duties outdoors in various weather conditions such as, rain, cold/hot days if necessary.
*Hours include days, nights and weekend and possibly holidays.
*Willingness to represent Chicago State University, and our mission and core values, in a positive manner on and off campus.

*Comfortable announcing to crowds of over 5,000 people on a microphone
*Comfortable announcing complex names from a variety of ethnic backgrounds
*Receptive to both positive and negative feedback
*Ability to be spontaneous and react quickly as appropriate
*Comfortable working closely with Athletic department and game operations staff
*Experience working as a PA announcer in collegiate or professional sports, in television, in radio or on stage is preferred

Minimum Qualifications

*High School Diploma and an interest to work in event, facility or sports management

Preferred Qualifications

-As a staff member, you will be responsible for performing any or all jobs listed below:
-Play music, advertisements and promotional items using a wide range of formats, including vinyl, CD or digital MP3, and a wide
range of equipment such as plates, mixers, microphones and amplifiers
-Play and mix records to create an upbeat atmosphere during athletic events
-Interact with the public through music, pre-recorded news, jingles and advertisements
